Arlene Elizabeth Gahwe Carpenter, a resident of Dothan and originally of Buffalo, NY passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle. She was 89.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00a.m. Saturday, July 8th 2017 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers are being accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Wesley Place on Honeysuckle, 718 Honeysuckle Rd, Dothan, AL.

Mrs. Carpenter was a wonderful and loving mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Edith Gahwe and by her husband, William E. Carpenter.

Survivors include her sons, Duane (Donna) Carpenter, Jeffrey (Therese) Carpenter, and William (Brenda) Carpenter; a daughter, Cheryl (David) Jones; a sister-in-law, Diane Johnstone; a niece, Bonnie (Chuck) Liggett; grandkids whom she adored, Jessica, David, Jr., Nichelle, Susie, Kristine, Lindsay, Nickolas, John, Alex, and Anna-Marie; 8 great-grandchildren.
