Arthur “Chef Monte” Montgomery

Arthur “Chef Monte” Montgomery, 83 of Dothan died Thursday morning March 1, 2018 at Hartford Health Care while on a short respite stay.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 in the Family First Funeral Care Chapel with family and friends offering eulogies.  The family will receive guest from 10:00 a.m. till service time.

Mr. Montgomery was born in Charleston, SC., son of the late George and Florence Montgomery.  He lived most of his lifetime in the Ozark and Dothan and was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from the Southeast Alabama Medical Center as a Chef and had previously worked at Olympia Spa and Flowers Hospital in the same position.

Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by a son Arthur Montgomery, Jr., three brothers and two sisters.  Survivors include his wife Reba Montgomery of Dothan, three daughters, Diane Henry of Enterprise, Celinda Ann Montgomery of Ozark, Dawanna Montgomery (fiance’ Anthony Sigler) of Dothan, a son Anthony Montgomery of Ozark, step-son Bobby White (Lavania) of Atlanta, several grand and great grandchildren and two special granddaughters Brijhana McNealey and Jasmine Montgomery.
