BETTY  FOLKES  RAYBON


DOTHAN. . .Betty Folkes Raybon, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday morning, March 11, 2018, in a Dothan hospital. She was 82.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, in the Smyrna Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Tew officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.


            Mrs. Raybon was born in Daleville and was reared in the Smyrna Community of Houston County, daughter of the late Grady Edward Folkes and Myrtle Elsie Tew Folkes. She lived in Dothan most of her lifetime and was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. Mrs. Raybon was retired from D.S.I. as a security guard. In earlier years, Mrs. Raybon was employed by Charles Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Raybon, a son, Mike McArdle, a brother, Hugh Folkes and a sister-in-law, Fannie Belle Folkes.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Teresa Lynn Cook, Blakely, GA; three sons, Steve McArdle, Wewahitchka, FL; Randy Brock, Kentucky; and Scott Brock (Teresa), Cowarts; a brother, Roger Folkes (Charlotte), Cowarts; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren.
