BETTY  NOWELL  SIRMONS

DOTHAN. . .Betty Nowell Sirmons, of Dothan, formerly of Webb, died early Wednesday afternoon, April 25, 2018, at the home of her sister. Betty was born December 19, 1937.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 28, 2018, in the Webb Baptist Church with Reverend Joel Laseter, Reverend Bob Gross and Dr. Jerry Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303 or to the Webb Cemetery Trust Fund, c/o Webb Baptist Church, P.O. Box 70, Webb, AL 36376.

          Mrs. Sirmons was a native of the Greenfront Community and was reared in Webb, daughter of the late Marvin A. Nowell and Vergeon Smith Nowell. She lived in Webb all her adult lifetime, moving to Dothan as a resident of Extendicare for five plus years. She continued to live with her sister for more than three years under the care of Kindred Hospice Mrs. Sirmons was a 1956 graduate of the Houston County High School in Columbia. She was formerly employed as a Bank Teller with the First National Bank of Dothan and as Chief Inspector for the Webb voting precinct. She was a member of the Webb Baptist Church. Mrs. Sirmons was preceded in death by her husband, William

Theodore (Ted) Sirmons and a niece, LeaKaye Lindsey Perry.

             Surviving relatives include a son, William Kendall ‘Ken’ Sirmons (Stephanie), Alabaster, AL; grandchildren, Madalyn Sirmons and MaryDee Sirmons; a sister, Barbara Nowell Lindsey (Dr. Raymond), Dothan; ; a sister-in-law, Jo Sirmons, a niece, Linda Raye Harris (Jason), a nephew, M. Allen Lindsey (Marsha), several other nieces and nephews from the Sirmons family.

            The family would like to express their appreciation to all nurses, CNA’s and staff members of Extendicare and Kindred Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care they gave to Mrs. Sirmons during her illness.
