Betty Sue Shipes of Dothan, AL, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was 68.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to Kindrid Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave, Dothan, AL 36303.

Mrs. Shipes is preceded in death by Thomas Shipes (husband), Tommy Shipes (son) Paxton Kennedy (grandson), Ben Kelley, Sr. (father), and Ben Kelley, Jr. (brother).

Survivors include Mary Kelley (mother) sisters Frances Looney, Ann McKinley (Fred), Jackie Kelley (Renee),  children Wayne Shipes (Kayria), Bo Shipes (Michelle), Susan Kennedy (Wayne),  grandchildren Cecily McDOnald (Justin), Summer Shipes, Shealee Grubbs (Wesley), Braxton Kennedy (Savannah), Tyler Bridges (Jodie), Brandon Bridges, great-grandchildren Westin Grubbs, Gavin Grubbs, and several nieces and nephews.
