Billie Jelean Gilmore, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise.  Burial will follow in Goodman Baptist Church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until the time of service.

Her biggest enjoyments in life were first and foremost her family.  She attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she was the secretary for many years.  She worked for National Security in Elba prior to that for 20 years.  Her favorite hobbies include traveling, boating, gardening, shopping and camping with her Boston terrier, Molly.  During the week days you could always find her at her favorite hangout spot, The Senior Center with her friends.  Billie leaves a legacy of what it means to have a solid work ethic, love life and always appreciate God’s beautiful handiwork.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Karl Crumpler; husband, Claude Gilmore and son, Mike Hataway.

She is survived by her son, Steve (Judy) Hataway of Enterprise, AL; grandchildren:  Candice Hataway of Birmingham, AL, Amanda (Patrick) Knotts  of Alabaster, AL, Cody (Lisa) Hataway of Phenix City, AL and Megan (Colton) Chirstjohn of Enterprise, AL; daughter in law, Deborah Hataway of Pell City, AL and great grandchildren:  Annabelle and Charolette Knotts.
