Mr. Billy David Thomas of Samson passed away Monday, August 28, 2017.  He was 74.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Totten officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Head Methodist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m.

Billy was born October 10, 1942 in Holmes County, Florida, to the late John Henry and Mary Etta Jackson Thomas.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Billy worked for the city of Samson for 37 1/2 years.  He loved to sit on his porch.  He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, his brothers; John H. Thomas Jr., James H. Thomas, and William Joseph (Joe) Thomas and three sisters; Mary Louise Mims, Mattie Lucille Mims, and Debra P. Thomas.

Survivors include his wife; Ethel Thomas, 3 Daughters: Mary McCrummen, Dana Robinson and Linda Thomas all of Samson, Al. Seven Grandchildren; Kayla Thomas, Barney McCrummen, Dalton McCrummen, Sondra Robinson, Courtney Poston, David Bowers and Joshua White. Ten Great-grandchildren.

Four sisters, Martha Locklear, Westville, Fl. Margaret Hamilton (Russ), Avon, SD; Margie Harrison and Pat Childs, Geneva, Al. Numerous nieces and nephews.
