Mr. Billy Joe Phillips of Geneva passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva. He was 82 years old.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Hollis officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Phillips was born on August 14, 1935 in Coffee County, AL to the late Ted and Mary Lou Bruce Phillips. Mr. Phillips retired from Van Heusen after many years of service. He was a dedicated deacon of Eden Baptist Church. He was such a dedicated member, that the only Sunday he ever missed of church service was the day of his mother’s funeral. Billy Joe loved Alabama Crimson Tide Football.

He survived by his special cousins, Sue Prater (Walt) of Ino Community, Nix Bruce (Beverly) of Holley Store Community, Reda Bruce of Enterprise, Joan Freeman (Paul) of Niceville, FL, Stanley Bruce (Mary) of Pensacola, FL, and Diane Goodnight of Hartford.
