            Bobby Harold Danzey, Sr., a resident of Crawfordville, Florida, died Monday night, March 27, 2017, in the Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida. He was 74.

            Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, April 1, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Daniel Cooksey officiating and a eulogy to be given by Claud Bowers. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.

            Mr. Danzey was born in Columbus, Georgia and was reared in the Tolbert Community of Henry County, son of the late Clarence Aaron Danzey and Willie Mae Harp Danzey. He served his country in the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve. Mr. Danzey lived most of his lifetime in Henry County and Headland before moving to Crawfordville in 2005. He attended the Ivan Assembly of God Church in Crawfordville. Mr. Danzey retired from the Dothan City School System. In earlier years, he worked in supply at Ft. Rucker and also with Daniel Construction Company at the Joseph M. Farley Plant. Mr. Danzey was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harvey and Clee Danzey, who raised him.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Voy Cecil Bowers Danzey; a son, Bob Danzey, Jr. (Lisa), all of Crawfordville; three grandchildren, Courtney Morgan (Justin), Jacob Danzey, and Georgia Danzey; three great-grandchildren, Judge Morgan, Jed Morgan and Jewel Morgan; a brother, Billy Wayne Danzey, Headland;  aunts, Kathleen Ammons, Jolene Kirkland (Carl Thomas), and Norma Chancey (Al); a niece, Monica Locke (Chuck); nephews, Trey Danzey (Carmen) and Spence Danzey (Leslie).

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Spence Danzey, Trey Danzey, Carl Kirkland, Greg Palmer, Eddie Palmer and Gary Bowers.
