COTTONWOOD. . .Bobby Jean Cook Lamb, was born June 11, 1928 in Chattahoochee, Florida and died on November 3, 2017.

            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 5, 2017, in the Cottonwood City Cemetery with  Reverend Jack Wingate officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

            Mrs. Lamb was a lifelong resident of Cottonwood and was a dedicated pharmacist where she owned Cottonwood Drug Company. She was one of six living female pharmacists to graduate from Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now Auburn University, prior to 1950.

            A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Sam, and sisters, Irma Jo Jewell and Dora Sue Owen.

            In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bobby Jean Cook Lamb to the Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy, 2316 Walker Building, Auburn, AL 36849, where a scholarship will be established in her name. Online donations may be made to: pharmacy.auburn.edu/giving.

            She is survived by her husband, James Hudson Lamb, Cottonwood; daughters, Anne Gardner (Jim), Eufaula; and Jane Elsea (Phil), Piney Flats, TN; a son, Jimmy Lamb, Dothan; five grandchildren, John, Kate, David, Kay and Leah; four great-grandchildren, Fischer, Lydia, Rosemary and Lilly Anne.
