MIDLAND CITY. . .Bobby Marshall, a resident of Midland City, died early Tuesday morning, February 6, 2018, at his home. He was 80.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 8, 2018, in the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Alan Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Wyndle Enfinger, 3991 County Road 73, Midland City, AL 36350.


            Bobby Marshall was a lifelong resident of Dale County, near Midland City, son of the late Cody Jackson Marshall and Pauline Woodham Marshall. He was a 1955 graduate of the Midland City High School and attended Troy University. Bobby served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until 1960. He was formerly employed by Alfa Insurance and Metropolitan Life as an agent and was also engaged in farming most of his adult lifetime. He was a member of the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church. Bobby was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Marshall Reaves and Phyllis Marshall Tomison.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Barbara Register Marshall; four sons, Brent Marshall (Terri), Midland City; David Marshall (Amy), Dothan; Bob Marshall (Robin), Auburn; Jon Marshall (Betsey), Midland City; six grandchildren, Candace Maddox (Pat), Anna Marshall, Sarah Hwang (Joe), Cody Marshall (Dominique), Jessica Marshall and Rob Marshall; and a great-granddaughter, October Maddox.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby’s sons and grandsons.


            The family would like to express their appreciation to Southeast Alabama Home Healthcare and Kindred Hospice for the loving care shown to Bobby and his family.
