Bobby Moore, 71, of Dothan passed away October 30, 2018 in a Florida nursing home.


Memorial services will be held 1pm Friday in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 1pm Friday.


Mr. Moore was born November 4, 1946 in Tupelo, Mississippi and he resided the early years of his life there. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp and was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his military service, he moved back to Tupelo for a short time before moving to Dothan in 1974. He was employed with Wiregrass Feed and Seed Store as an outside feed consultant before opening Moore’s Farming Supply Store in Slocomb. Most of Mr. Moore career was spent in the transportation industry as a over the road driver. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.


Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Mary Moore; his brothers Robert Hoyt Moore, Terry Moore and Roy Douglas Moore.


Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Karen Moore; his brothers, Shelby Wayne Moore and Ronnie Coy Moore; his sisters, Doris Virginia Bass and Sarah Inez Lindley; several nieces and nephews.
