Bobby Royce Smith passed away December 28, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, GA. His Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Alex Howell officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be the First United Methodist Church Men’s Bible Class. The U. S. Air Force funeral detail will play taps and present the flag after the service. The family will receive friends for a visitation on January 2, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at B.R.’s home - 21968 Lucile Road, Blakely, GA. Mr. Smith was born on April 15, 1938 in Hilton, GA to the late Roy Carlton Smith and Wynette Williams Smith. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Blakely where he was active in the Men’s Bible Class. He was a Superintendent for Georgia Pacific Paper Company, Cedar Springs, GA and retired after 45 years. After his retirement he started his own business, Smith Mechanical Contractors. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Annelle King Smith. His survivors include one son, Trey Smith and Amy, one daughter, Sian Smith Lott and John all of Blakely, and one sister, Kay Smith Peters and Bob of Fort Walton Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Natalie Gayle Smith, John Austin Lott and Maggie Laine Smith; a special friend Ina Frances Rogers.
