Braxton Blackmon, of Elba, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.  He was 82.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2018, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Dewey Emfinger officiating.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory directing.   The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Braxton was born March 25, 1936, in Elba, Alabama to the late Lex Blackmon and Edna Earl Seymore Blackmon.  He is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Mack Blackmon and daughter, Barbara Stinson.    

Survivors include two daughters:  Donna Hataway (Malcom) of Elba and Gail Blackmon of Opp; son, Tim Blackmon (Janet) of Elba; four grandchildren:  Brandy Chamblee, Bradley and Avery Hataway and Jake Blackmon; two great-grandchildren:  Emma and Marlee Miranda.
