Captain Bobby McCord of Midland City passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at his residence. He was 74.

 

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Cottonwood City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday, November 6, 2016. Flowers will be accepted.

 

Mr. McCord served as a Captain in the Merchant Marines for 20 years.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents William McCord and Pauline Griggs McCord.

 

Survivors include his former wife Dorothy McCord of Midland City; daughter Lynn McCord of Midland City; brother Ira McCord of Cottonwood; grandchildren; Greg Quattlebaum, Chris Cunningham, Tina Sims, Michael James Carpenter, and Benjamin McCord; 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
