HEADLAND. . . Carl William Moore, a resident of Headland, died Tuesday morning, March 27, 2018, at his home. He was 75.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 31, 2018, in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, near Grimes, with Reverend Scotty Scott, Reverend Danny Quincey and Colonel Charles Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2240 County Road 79, Dothan, AL 36303 or to the Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund, 2506 State Highway 134 East, Headland, AL 36345.


            Mr. Moore was born in Opp, Alabama to the late William Moore and Hazel Jordan Moore. He lived in Grimes before moving to Headland in 2013. Mr. Moore was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was currently employed by Wiley Sanders Truck Lines of Troy in the Safety Department. He was preceded in death by an uncle, L.T. “Tolvie” Jordan, who helped to rear Mr. Moore, and two brothers, Charles Moore and Jerry Blair.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Ruth Minter Moore; two daughters, Carlee Moore Williams (Ronnie), Headland; Ginger Braswell (Alan), Geneva; four sons, Kevin Moore (Nikki), Dothan; Bradley Moore, Headland; Travis Moore (Phyllis), Bellwood; Greg Moore (Deborah), Enterprise; a sister, Cora Lee Hobbs; three brothers, Johnny Blair, Jim Blair and William Blair; ten grandchildren, Conner Cook, Aubrey Moore, Wesley Williams, Sauyer Moore, Kristy Rowe (Mike), Alex Moore, Amy Moore, Maegan Caylor, Morgan Moore and Branson Andrews; one great-grandson, Luke Rowe; a special friend who was like a brother, Colonel Charles Ward.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Steve Stevens, Col. Charles Ward, David Nelson, John Jerkins, Ken Kelly and Keith Lemaster.


            The family would like to express their appreciation to Alicia Starmer, RN, of SouthernCare Hospice for the loving care shown to Mr. Moore during his illness.
