CAROL  BERRY  ADKINSON


SHORTERVILLE. . .Willie Carol Berry Adkinson, a resident of Shorterville, died Monday, March 27, 2017, at her home. She was 72.


            Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M Thursday, March 30, 2017, in the Shorterville Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 P.M Thursday in the church sanctuary.


            Mrs. Adkinson was born and reared in Shorterville, daughter of the late Willie Carl Berry and Ada Mae Wilson Berry. She was formerly employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in several nursing homes in Alabama and Georgia. In later years, Mrs. Adkinson served as a private nurse for the elderly. She was a member of the Shorterville Baptist Church. Mrs. Adkinson was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Adkinson.


            Surviving relatives include three daughters, Carla Smith (Brian), Shorterville; Marna Paul (Donnie), Georgetown, GA; and Tonia Blalock (Lee), Shorterville; a sister, Jean Bush (Crawford), Abbeville; eight grandchildren, Melisha Laney (Andrew), Heather Duckett (Bryan), Jessica Smith (Malcolm), Anthony Paul (Bella), Asha Schuette (Justin), Lucas Paul, Whitney Oates (Lucas), and KayCee Blalock; thirteen great-grandchildren; two nephews, Carl Bush (Olivia) and Will Bush (Tara).


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Carl Bush, Will Bush, Luke Paul, Justin Schuette, Lucas Oates and Bryan Duckett.
