Charles William Crowell passed away on September 13, 2018.  He was 83. 

Charles will be buried with his family in the Travelers Rest Cemetery in Samson, Alabama.  There will be no services.

Charles was born June 29, 1935, in Alabama.  He was preceded in death by parents, Lomax and Grace Chancey Crowell; his wife, Marilyn Maxwell Crowell; daughter, Marilyn Cynthia Crowell and brother, Jon Page Crowell.

Survivors include his son, Charles Michael Crowell; three siblings, James L. (Dora) Crowell, Jr. of Samson, Robert B. Crowell of Westville, FL and Libba C. (Spenser) Campbell of Albuquerque, NM and his second wife, Jackie Brunson Crowell.

Charles graduated from Samson High School and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education from the University of Alabama.  He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.  He completed a thirty year career with the State Farm Insurance Company in the Pensacola, Florida area where he served many divisions of the company and acquired his own agency.  He received numerous awards and recognition for his work.  He was an avid reader, fisherman and an Alabama football fan.
