Charlie Douglas Griffin, age 69, of Dothan, AL passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his residence.

 

A service of remembrance celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11 A.M. from Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Seale officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time from 10 – 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.

 

Mr. Griffin was born on April 17, 1947 in Dothan, Alabama. He was the only child born to Harold Douglas Griffin and Mary Lou Waites.

 

Doug was retired from Farley nuclear Plant and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family. He also spent time on his farm in Geneva County where he liked to fish and raised cattle in the past.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Barnett Griffin and parents, Harold and Mary Lou Griffin; and is survived by his two daughters: Chera Griffin Lee (Stuart) and Nicole Griffin Wiley both of Dothan. Grandchildren: Griffin Bryce Ammons, Mary Lawrence Lee, and Edgar “Douglas” Lee all of Dothan.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to: Save a Pet, at P.O. Box 9323, Dothan, AL 36304. Family and friends are invited to gather after the service at the home of Mark and Angela Dunning.

 

Serving as pallbearers are Griffin Ammons, Richard Ammons, Todd Brannon, Mark Dunning, Stuart Lee, and Dr. Michael Williams.
