Clara Freeman Roberts, a resident of Headland, died Saturday morning, February 24, 2018, at her home. She was 89.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 26, 2018, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Minister Logan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Newton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the mortuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contribution may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303.

            Ms. Roberts was born in Bath, New York, daughter of the late Lynn Clifford Freeman and Mary Violet Fairman Freeman. She lived in Newton most of her lifetime before moving to Headland. Ms. Roberts was a member of the Newton First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Roberts, a sister, Geraldine Sell and two brothers, Paul Freeman and Dean Freeman.

            Surviving relatives include three daughters, Marie Enfinger (Dewey), Wicksburg; Mildred Owens, Headland; and Della Watson (Frank), Newton; twelve grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Jordan Mallory, Nathan Aplin, Matt Godwin, Mark Walden, Terry Roberts, Logan Johnson, Joey Clevinger and Derek Holder.
