SHORTERVILLE. . .Connie Newman Marshall, a resident of Shorterville, died Wednesday morning, March 27, 2019, at her home. She was 65.


     Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2019, in the Judson Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Ray S. Reiley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday in the Judson Baptist Church. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Judson Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 56, Abbeville, AL 36310.


     Connie Marshall was born in Ft. Gaines, Georgia and was reared in Shorterville where she lived most of her lifetime. She was employed most of her life as a caregiver and housekeeper. Connie was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father, J. D. Newman, her mother, Sara Fleming Pelto and a brother, Johnny Newman.


     Surviving relatives include her husband, John T. Marshall, III; a daughter, Lauren Marshall Keating (Steve), Savannah, GA; her step-father, Kenneth Pelto, Shorterville; three sisters, Peggy Fleming, Shorterville; Cathy Pass (Bobby), Tennessee; and Vivian Sabbatini (Kim), Greenville, MS; two brothers, Mann Newman (Natalie), and Chris Newman, all of Shorterville; a sister-in-law, Jeannie Bostick, Newville;  special friends, Rossie Money and Patti Grotecloss.
