CW2 (Retired) Charles Ira Jeffcoat, age 83 of Malvern died early Sunday morning, March 25 at his home under the care of hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Thursday, March 29, 2018 in the Family First Funeral Care Chapel with Chaplain Phillip Durr officiating. Burial will follow in the Gordon City Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to service time.

CW2 (Retired) Jeffcoat was born in Gordon, AL to the late C.E. Jeffcoat and Jewel Harmon Jeffcoat. At the young age of 15, he joined the United States Army, where he honorably served our great nation until his retirement in 1972. After his military career, he lived most of his life in Callaway where he worked as a commercial fisherman, even owning a fish market at one point. He eventually moved to Malvern, where he has resided for the past 13 years. Hobbies included fishing, as well as making mullet and crab traps. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet (David) Greene, Malvern and Brenda (Mike) Schlosser, Plano, TX; a son, Daniel Jeffcoat, Palm Beach, FL; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchilren, to include a special great-granddaughter, Brianna Durden and a special four-legged companion that was with him to the very end, Punkin.
