CW3 (Ret) William R. “Bob” Day, age 90 of Enterprise, AL passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his home.


A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Adam Habbard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 9, Enterprise Coffee County Chapter, PO Box 310972, Enterprise, AL 36331 or a charity of your choice.


Bob received numerous Army medals during his years of service, to include a Purple Heart. After 20 years of sponsorship Bob and Fran were awarded St. Olav medals, which were the highest medals awarded to civilians by the King of Norway. He was a Mason for 50 years.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Maggie Day, a brother, James M. Day, a sister, Dorothy Sumblin and a son, Chad Robert Day.


Survivors include his wife, Frances I. Day, Enterprise, AL; daughters, Michaela D. Jackson, Enterprise, AL; Candace D. Hargraves, Arab, AL; sisters, Grace Weeks, Kinston, AL; Ruth Wise, Samson, AL; brothers, Donald Day (Ann) Pace, FL; Eddie Day, Enterprise, AL; grandchildren, Tiffany Lawson, Enterprise, AL; Josh Elledge (Anna) Minneapolis, MN; Ryan Peltier (Pete) Nashville, TN; Rob Hargraves, Nashville, TN; Morgan Day, Ilinois; great-grandchildren, Jackson Lawson; Madison Lawson; Lucas Chad Elledge; Ashlyn Elledge (Don); numerous nieces and nephews.
