Cynthia Ada Goodson Miller finally gave up her long battle and passed away from this earth in the early morning hours of Dec. 1, 2017. She was taken far too early at the age of 59. Cindy was the mother of two wonderful children, Fallon and Lue and was the beautiful bride of Wayne Miller. Cindy was also recently made a grandmother with the birth of our precious Ada Flowers. Cindy was blessed with uncommon physical beauty but was completely unpretentious about it and we all knew he purest beauty was inside. With just a few words she could calm her children at times of their most devastating losses or failures. With a gentle touch and a whisper she could reassure her husband that all is well and we’ll by just fine.  Cindy was the one you went to if you just needed someone to listen. She had a way of blocking out the rest of the world and making you feel that, in a room full of people, there was no one but the two of you in this safe little bubble she created just for you. Cindy was completely without artifice with an inability to lie or deceive and we all knew not to ask her something if we weren’t prepared for the unvarnished truth. She was true to her beliefs and expected you to remain true to yours and was uncompromising in this regard. If you were to ask Cindy, other than her family, how she would like to be remembered, I think she would like to be remembered as a hard worker. She could not stand to be idle or unproductive. Cindy worked at Headstrom Inc. and Ansel Inc. in the 80s and 90s but after the birth of her second child Luke, she wanted to work on her own terms and her own schedule so she cleaned houses, provided manicures and pedicures (licensed), and drove school-bus for Wicksburg and Enterprise city schools. There is a cruel irony to Cindy’s passing in that she maintained herself in remarkable condition with a meticulous diet, spin class 3-4 days a week and power walking at home morning and evening. It was, however, her mind that betrayed her in the end. Dementia stole her mind and ravaged her body. Incredibly, even when she could still understand what was happening, she maintained her dignity and class. She went peacefully, wrapped in her husband’s arms, his head on her chest, listening for her last heartbeat to know that she was finally, mercifully at peace.

Memorial services will be held at 12 P.M. Friday, December 8, 2017 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Debra Bump officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 to 12 on Friday, one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include her husband Wayne Miller, children Fallon Flowers (Calvin), Luke Miller, sisters Debra Bump (Phillip), Sylvia Parramore, Norma Nowlin (Ray) and grandchild Ada Flowers.
