Mr. David Lee Weldon, of Dothan, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at his residence. He was 62.
Born May 10, 1955 in Covington, VA to the late Roland Leon Weldon, Sr. and Betty Moore, Mr. Weldon was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He worked at Sony as a Machinist for 33 years, his part-time job as a clown, where he loved doing birthday parties and skating in parades and making animal balloons. David was full of life and when he was around there was never a dull moment. He could make light of any situation. He loved his family and enjoyed helping others more than anything, and lets don’t forget his love for yard sales.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Weldon; son, Chris Weldon (Lauren) of Taylor; step-daughter, Dacia Richardson (Clay) of Dothan, Al, and step-son, Johnathan Harden of Hartford, Al. Siblings, Bill and Sue Weldon, Lenny and Margie Weldon, Cynthia and Mike Smith, Roland and Kerry Weldon, Sharon and Joe Hayes, and Debbie Cotton; grandchildren, Tori Wood, Tobi Wood, Elijah Harden, Emalyn Weldon,, and Addison Weldon; nephews and nieces, Joel Weldon, Dalton Weldon, Lexy Weldon, Allen Smith, Andrew Smith, Austin Smith, Mike Mihalic, T.J. Mihalic, Jobie Mihalic, Kay Cotton, Kim and Brian Duncan, and Chris and Lisa Cotton; his pets/dogs, Quincey, Cocoa, Gabby, Raschal; grand dogs, Abbigail, Jasper Ray, Layla Rose, Jake, and Bailey; great grand dog, Maggie Rae.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, Novemebr, 10, 2017 from the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Wendall Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery, Memory Hill. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service.
Family will be accepting flowers.
