DEAN  GAMBLE  SALTZ


HEADLAND. . .Willa Dean Gamble Saltz, a resident of Headland, died early Sunday morning, May 7, 2017, at her home. She was 73.


            Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friend from 1:30 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303.


            Dean Saltz was a native of Houston County and was reared in the Pleasant Plains Community, daughter of the late Marvin George Gamble and Lillian Luverne Hughes Gamble. She lived in Dothan most of her lifetime before returning to the Pleasant Plains Community in 2004. Dean was a member of the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as a clerk and cashier at convenience stores in Dothan. Dean was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Lumpkin, a son, Marshall Kinney, a brother, Charles W. Gamble, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.


            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Brenda Kinney Lauminick (Richard), Warrior, AL; and Taye Langley, Albertville, AL; a sister, Ann Johnson (James), Headland; a brother, Edward E. (Hoss) Gamble, Kinsey; six grandchildren, Zoe Langley, Brad Murphy, Jennifer McCabe, Crystal Thomas, Jamie Larsen and Mindy Lauminick; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
