TUMBLETON COMMUNITY…Delane Morgan Shelley, a resident of the Tumbleton Community, died early Monday morning, August 6, 2018, at her home. She was 82.

  Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, August 9, 2018, in the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Joey Pettis officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. Thursday in the sanctuary of the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church, c/o David Teat, 10033 County Road 47, Shorterville, AL 36373 or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 100 Chase Park 220, Birmingham, Alabama 35244.

  Mrs. Shelley was a native of Newville and was reared in the Tumbleton Community of Henry County, daughter of the late Ben and Rheba Morgan. She was a 1953 graduate of Headland High School and attended Wallace Community College. She lived in various locations in the United States, Germany and Italy while her husband served in the military. She returned to the Tumbleton Community in 1980. Mrs. Shelley was a member of the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church and was a former member of the Balkum Baptist Church. She was retired from HNB First Bank as an Internal Auditor. Mrs. Shelley was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Russell Holloway.

  Surviving relatives include her husband, Foy Oneal Shelley (Lt. Col., U. S. Army Retired),  a daughter, Melissa Holloway, Pelham, AL; two sons, Steve Shelley (Margie), Peachtree Corners, GA; and Andy Shelley (Julie) Roswell, GA; a sister, Kathryn Culp, Tumbleton Community; a brother, Gus Morgan (Marla), LaGrange, GA; four grandchildren, David Holloway (Emily), Dr. Amanda Holloway, Anna Shelley and Sarah Shelley; a great-grandson, William Holloway.
