Obituary:  Derek Don Vinson

 

 

Derek Don Vinson of Newton, Alabama (Wicksburg Community) went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 5, 2017 after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 43.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Enterprise with Rev. Lisa Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time. In keeping with his wishes cremation will follow the funeral services.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions could be made to your local SOS animal shelter.

 

Derek was born August 13, 1973 in Michigan to Larry Don Vinson and Pamela McLane Vinson. His grandfather, Euger Vinson and aunt Teresa Vinson each preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his wife, Amy White Vinson, Newton, AL, 2 daughters, Natasha Vinson, Pennsylvania, Briana Knowles, Newton, AL, 2 sons, Eric Olaizola, Afghanistan, Dylan Knowles, Newton, AL, his father, Larry Don Vinson, Midland City, his mother, Pamela McLane Vinson, Michigan, sister, Amy Vinson, Michigan, several nieces and nephews also survive.
