Mr. Donald D. Wells, 86 years old, of Samson died October 13, 2018 in Dothan, AL after a long illness.

Donald was born in Marianna, FL. He was the eldest of two sons and proud to have earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 12. After graduation, he served overseas in the United States Air Force, followed by a long career in public education. He served as Principal of Samson High School for 27 years. He loved all sports and was an avid fan and alumni of The University of Alabama.

A memorial service will be held at Samson First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 16 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Phil Craddock and Rev. Teresa Gilland officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Samson First United Methodist Church, 204 West Main Street, Samson, AL 36477.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Jo Wells; 2 daughters, Lisa (Jason) Holloway of Tampa, FL and Wendy (Randy) Morris of Dothan, AL; three grandchildren: Zack Holloway, Brooke and Rachel Morris.
