Donnie L. Weatherford of Enterprise passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at home surrounded by loved ones following a brief illness.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Rev. John McCrummen officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time.

 

Donnie was born February 4, 1952.  He was employed with the City of Enterprise Sanitation Department for a number of years prior to retirement. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gussie Lee and Lettie Bell Weatherford; brother, Marion Weatherford; and sisters, Bobby Stafford, Jonnie Faye Sanders, Betty Donaldson, Linda Lou Davis.

 

He is survived by his wife, Rita Strops; children, Tabitha Strops and Paul (Tina) Strops; grandchild, Whitney Strops; brother, Billy Weatherford; two sisters, Onzie Carnley and Peggy (Howard) Johnson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
