Dorothy Mae Mowrey of Valdosta, GA and formerly of Geneva, AL, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017.  She was 94.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Tim Sewell, officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Westside United Methodist Church, 1000 W. Maple Ave., Geneva, AL 36340.

Mrs. Mowrey was born in Hartford, AL on August 22, 1922, to the late James Matthew Palmer and Tinnie Estelle Kelly Palmer.  Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Mowrey worked as a cashier at the Piggly Wiggly in Geneva for many years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ellis Mowrey.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Mowrey Armstrong, and husband Luther William Armstrong, Jr.,  of Valdosta, GA; granddaughter, Elizabeth Armstrong Davis, and husband, Aaron, of Lake Park, GA; grandson, Robert William Armstrong of Boston, GA; two great grandchildren, Emma and Abby Davis, both of Lake Park, GA; sister, Jane Davis of Dothan, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
