Douglas W. "Doug" Williams, a resident of Dothan passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at a local hospital. He was 59.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Doug was born June 3, 1958 in Houston County, Alabama and lived in Dothan his entire life. He attended Dothan City Schools and Houston Academy. He worked with Michelin Tire Company prior to working in the family business, Williams Automotive Group, serving as Dealer/President of the Mazda and Kia Store for several years. Later he established "The Cart Guys" and was owner/operator for the past 11 years. Doug was a loving husband and father and in turn was loved by his entire family very much.

Doug enjoyed cooking and was a master griller and loved to cook for others, as well as fishing, boating, and spending time outdoors. He had a real knack for finding fun in any situation and will be remembered for his big happy smile. He was always helping others and those who knew him best called him "Dougie." He loved practical jokes and was a friend to all who knew him. Doug was a member of the Green Valley Country Club and served as past president. He was of the Baptist Faith and was preceded in death by his parents, W.D. and Elsie Williams.

Survivors include his wife Mary Williams; a son, Douglas A. "Andy" Williams; a daughter, Katherine M. "Katy" Williams; brothers, Wykle (Barbara) Williams, Jr. and Mykle (Dianne) Williams; a sister, Malinda (Richard) Baumann; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Green Valley Country Club.
