NEWVILLE…Eddie Junior Sanders, a resident of Newville, died early Sunday night, June 24, 2018, of injuries sustained in a tree cutting accident which occurred near the Browns Crossroads Community of Dale County. He was 50.


  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 29, 2018, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Joseph N. Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Abbeville Memorial Cemetery East. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Abbeville.


  Eddie Sanders was born and reared in the Tumbleton Community of Henry County. He was formerly engaged in farming and currently co-owned and operated, with his companion, a tree cutting service. Eddie was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Sanders, and a sister, Rosie Sanders.


  Surviving relatives include his special companion, Shanda Whitehead Sanders, Newville; his mother, Willie Pearl Sanders, Dothan; his father and step-mother, Eddie and Bessie Sanders, Abbeville; two step-sons, Kaileb Hall and Blaisen Whitehead, both of Newville; seven sisters, Angela Trice (Kevin), Abbeville; Gail McDaniel (Craig), Dothan; Gloria Culver, Abbeville; Mary Sanders (Ike), Abbeville; Bessie Cochran, Abbeville; Kathy Jackson (Homer), Webb; and Nettie Jones, Cowarts;  three brothers, Randy Sanders (Stephanie), Webb; Travis Sanders, Headland; and Willie Griggs, Headland.
