Mr. Edward Aycock of Coffee Springs, Alabama passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at his home following a lengthy illness.  He was 84.


Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Chancellor Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Royce Morrow, Rev. Les Lee, Rev. Jimmy Eddins, and Rev. Ray Layton officiating.  Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 


Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Chancellor Assembly of God Building Fund, P.O. Box. 87, Chancellor, AL 36316 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.    


Mr. Aycock was born in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Henry and Ruby Lee Bell Aycock.  He worked with the State of Alabama Department of Transportation for 33 years. After his retirement, Mr. Ed loved to go hunting and fishing, working with his horses, and most especially, woodworking. Mr. Edward attended Chancellor Assembly of God Church for many years. He was a loving and devoted husband, brother, and friend.     


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Stone; one brother, Roger Aycock; and one sister-in-law, Teena Aycock.


He is survived by his loving wife of almost 42 years, Margaret Ellenburg Aycock of Coffee Springs, AL; God-son, Clay Wise (April) of Coffee Springs, AL; one brother, Jeffery Glynn Aycock of Coffee Springs AL; one sister, Lois Minor Floyd (Doug); one sister-in-law, Linda Aycock of Geneva, AL; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.


The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Kindred Home Health and Hospice, his special caregivers, Avery Smith, Melinda Campbell and the entire church family of Chancellor Assembly of God, Dr. Paola Bass, Dr. Stephen Sanders and their staff.
