Elder Fred Austin Averett, Jr., age 85, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 in Medical Center Enterprise.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Elder Jim Webb officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Fred was born to Fred and Euna Byrd Averett on June 22, 1932.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hannah Faye Parker Averett and his sister, Myra Averett Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Bettye Averett, Enterprise, AL; daughters, Nancy Long (Michael) Banks, AL; Stephanie Huff (Randy) Adams, TN; his son, Bob Averett (Frissee) Auburn, AL; grandchildren, Dr. Jackson Reynolds; Grayson Asire; Hannah Kate Averett; Parker Averett; Ryder Averett; stepchildren, Steve Adkinson (Charlotte) Opp, AL; Rick Adkinson, Enterprise, AL; Donna Bullard (Tim) Enterprise, AL; two brothers, Don Averett (Morine) Enterprise, AL; Jim Averett (Mickey) Birmingham, AL; brother-in-law, Homer Wilson, Hixson, TN.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wynwood Oaks Assisted Living and DaySpring Hospice, as well as his devoted sitters, for their loving care.
