Elizabeth Ann Coggins McLaughlin, 85, died Monday, February 19, 2018 surrounded by her children.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Ann, who was a beautiful lady with a charming and warm personality.  Ann was born June 12, 1932 in Lafayette, Alabama, the youngest of six children of Claudine Elizabeth Graham Coggins and William Davis Coggins. A loving mother, Ann raised her family in Ozark, later lived in Montgomery, and retired to Panama City Beach from the Alabama Department of Health. 

Predeceased by her parents and siblings, Ann is survived by her four children: Gail Elizabeth Williams and her husband Jerry; James Daniel McLaughlin and his wife Vivian; William Davis McLaughlin, M.D. and his wife Sarah; and Robert Joseph McLaughlin, Jr. and his wife Anna.  Ann was devoted to her ten grandchildren: Dr. Robert Bradley Cook and his wife Genesee; Amanda Ann Pack and her husband Sam; Julia Leigh Bogdanovich and her husband Nickolas; Laurel Vera McLaughlin; Mark Lewis McLaughlin; William Davis McLaughlin, Jr. and his wife Haley; Sarah Anne Brewer and her husband Colin; George Burkhart McLaughlin; Mary Elizabeth McLaughlin; Robert Joseph (Mac) McLaughlin, III;  and her seven great-grandchildren: Emilee Cook, Sydnee Cook, Marlee Cook, William Pack, Robert Pack, Brody McLaughlin, and Jones McLaughlin.  

Arrangements are being handled by Family First Funeral Care of Dothan;  the family will hold a graveside memorial service in Lafayette in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s memory may be made to Community Hospice at 368 James Street, Ozark, AL 36360 or Wesley Place on Honeysuckle at 718 Honeysuckle Road, Dothan, AL 36305, where both staffs lovingly cared for Ann in her last months.
