Mrs. Ella Mae Dawsey of Dothan went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday December 30, 2017.  


 


Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday January 3, 2018 at Ward Wilson Chapel.  Rev. C.M. Holloway and Pastor James Harvey will be officiating.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.


 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday January 3 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M.


 


Ella was born on September 27, 1931 in Houston County to Thomas and Johnnie Mae Butler. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.


 


She will be remembered by all for her love of God, a devoted wife, her love for her children, and her love of playing her piano.  Ella will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.


 


Mrs. Dawsey was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Butler and her mother, Johnnie Mae Butler.


 


Ella is survived by her husband: Ralph Dawsey, Dothan; Daughter: Dianne (Alton) Holloway, Slocomb; Daughter: Deborah (Kim) Shores, Slocomb;  Son: Thomas (Pam) Dawsey, Dothan;  Son: Raleigh (Helen) Dawsey, Dothan; Son: Russell (Christy) Dawsey, Dothan; One brother and five sisters. Grandchildren: Ginive (Aaron) Reeder, Amanda (Jason) Creel, Brittany (Dusty) Sellers, Millicent (Dustin) Harrison, Garrick (Miranda) Elliott, Breanna Elliott, Emily Dawsey.  She had 10 Great grand Children.


 


A very special thank you to Barbara Harvey who provided such excellent care and love to Ella.  Special thanks to Annie Ford and Shannon Hudson, with Southern Care Hospice, who also provided excellent care of Ella.
