Eloise Hughes of Geneva passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. She was 84. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Cliff Quincy officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, beginning at1:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to New Home Baptist Church, 2734 County Road 617, Enterprise, AL 36330.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Geneva, AL on January 15, 1932, to the late Walter Foxworth, Sr. and Ruby Pearl Jacobs Foxworth. She was a member of New Home Baptist Church.  Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Hughes worked as a seamstress for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Young Daniel “Snooks” Hughes; two brothers, Walter Foxworth, Jr. and Franklin D. Foxworth; and two step-sons, Kenneth Hughes and Ricky Hughes.

She is survived by her three sisters, Nell Cronkhite of Geneva, Doris Gilmore (Earl) of Marianna, FL and Dorothy Barton (Ed); brother, A.W. Foxworth, all of Geneva; step sons, Larry Hughes (Carolyn) of Denver, CO and Dale Hughes (Vickie) of Enterprise; and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
