ABBEVILLE. . .Estelle Aldridge Blalock, a resident of Abbeville, died early Tuesday morning, October 31, 2017, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility. She was 83.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 3, 2017, in the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Stephen Windham and Reverend Thomas D. Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Abbeville.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 939 Hickory Grove Road, Abbeville, AL 36310.


            Mrs. Blalock was a native of Fayette County, Alabama, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Aldridge and Vada Mae Moore Aldridge. She moved to Abbeville in 1955 where she was a member of the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Blalock was a retired employee of WestPoint Stevens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Hawley Blalock, three sisters, Irene Blalock, Corene Baumgartner and Clara Mae Whitson, and a brother, Edward Aldridge.


            Surviving relatives include a son, Mickey Blalock (Denise), Abbeville; two brothers, Eugene Aldridge, Fayette, AL; and C. T. Aldridge, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Mark Blalock, Lance Blalock, Shaun Blalock, and Holli Blalock; four great-grandchildren, Kadance Blalock, Kaleb Blalock, Karmen Blalock and Kamrynn Blalock.
