Gilbert “Laney” Wynn, age 97, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 11, 2017 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with a eulogy by his nephew, Steve Averett.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Level Plains, 8189 County Road 1, Enterprise, AL 36330.

Laney was originally from Ariton, AL, graduated from Ariton High School and joined the military.  He was a World War II Veteran and retired from Civil Service, Fort Rucker, AL.  He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Level Plains having served as a deacon and in other positions.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 55 years, Cora Lee Speigner Wynn.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Angeline Simmons and her husband, Ted.

The family extends a special thank you to all of the staff at Wynnwood Oaks Assisted Living for their loving care during his seven years of residency and to DaySpring Hospice for their recent care.
