Gordon Gene Nichols, of Enterprise, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.  He was 87.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at The Grace Place Church with Rev. Calvin Malone officiating.  Burial with full military honors will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The Grace Place Church Manna House, 5730 Shellfield Road, Enterprise, AL 36330.

 

Gordon was born August 23, 1930, in Natchez, Mississippi.  He was a member of The Grace Place. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Seal and Miriam E. Nichols; his wife of 63 years, Hilda Jean Nichols; daughter, Jeanne Marie Nichols; and daughter-in-law, Cindy L. Class.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Tina Marie Nichols, Gainesville, GA; two sons: Roy Edward Nichols (Jorie Lawrence), Enterprise, Tyler William Nichols, Enterprise; one grandchild, Penny L. Martinez (David Cornish); grandson-in-law, Victor Martinez; four great-grandchildren: Bethany, Jordan, Alex and Robert.
