Grace Hughes, age 87, of Dothan, AL passed away, Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, September 29, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of Dothan, AL with Dr. Ben Bowden and Rev. Rob Oates officiating.  Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 1:30 P.M.  Memorials may be made to Raleigh’s Place, 346 County Road 1028, Clanton, AL 35046.

Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Roscoe Hughes, son-in-law, Jimmy Bowden, two brothers, James G. Skinner and Buford Skinner.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen “Sugie” Bowden, Dothan, AL; son, Rusty Hughes (Deana) Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren, Abby Bowden Tippins (Scott) Auburn, AL; Ben Bowden (Lindsay) Enterprise, AL; Mary Ryan; Nicholas Hughes, both of Birmingham, AL; eight great-grandchildren, Ella Grace, James, and Benjamin Tippins, Auburn, AL; Libby, Susie, Annie, George, and Jake Bowden, Enterprise, AL; one brother, Wilmer C. Skinner, Panama City, FL; many more family and friends whom Grace loved and cherished.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Stephen Sanders and Community Hospice and her loving care givers, Brenda Whiteside and Evelyn Varner.
