Hazeleen Cole Johnson, of Slocomb, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019.  She was 78.

Graveside funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Haw Hill Cemetery in Jack with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise Wednesday from 10 – 11 a.m.

Hazeleen was born September 9, 1940, in Coffee County, Alabama.  She loved her family unconditionally and was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and the best aunt ever.  She was an avid Word Search fan and completed 2 – 3 books per week, and she loved her Soap Stories.  Christmas and Thanksgiving were her favorite times, but she would say, “if only my family in Heaven were here”, and she always talked about going to Heaven to see her family.  The last few years of her life were pretty tough, but she would always say, “It can only get better one day”.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Johnson; her parents: Mama Rose, Ella K. Cole, and Willie J. Cole; infant daughter, Sandra Johnson; son, Joe Johnson; and daughter, Jackie Johnson.

Survivors include: Daughter, Kathy Wheeler (Dwayne Parker); sisters: Shirley McWaters (Karo) and Diane Strickland; brother, Jerry Ray Strickland; sister-in-law: Diane Lozano and Bobby Lozano; grandchildren: Jeremy Johnson (Harli), Kim Lolley (Craig), Matt Singleton (Allison), and Nichole Hart (Daniel); great-grandchildren: Jackson and Mattie Johnson, Heath and Hannah Lolley, Cole Singleton, JD, Brooks, and Collins Hart; niece, Vicky Turner (Curt Smith); special daughter-in-law, Brenda Smith Johnson; brother-in-law, Pete Johnson; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews.

A special thank you to DaySpring Hospice for their loving, compassionate care.
