Hilda E. (Dean) Wood, age 79 of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in Enterprise.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Duhaime officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.

Mrs. Wood was a 20 year military dependent housewife and mother.  She worked as staff and volunteer at the Enterprise YMCA for approximately 25 years. 

She was a “Jewel” to all those who were blessed with the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Horace W. Wood and her parents, Emul Swanson and Vera Killmer.

Survivors include her four children, Steven Wood (Linda) Chancellor, AL; Melodie Bourne (Danny) Enterprise, AL; David Wood (Marcia) Dothan, AL; Pamela Wood (Matt Sunday) Equality, AL; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Frances Messer, Dothan, AL; Shirley Hitt, Enterprise, AL.
