Ina Lorene Carswell Blalock passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the age of 90.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Pleasant Home Free Will Baptist Church

(Thurston Church) Black Al, at 11:00 a.m with the Reverend Jerry C McAdams officiating. Burial will

follow in the Pleasant Home Cemetery with Bottoms Garden Chapel directing. Visitation will begin at

10 am and continue until funeral service time.

Lorene was born in Geneva County on November 30, 1928 to Lesley B. and Iola Hughes Carswell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Raymond B. Carswell and by her husband of 64

years, Robert E. Blalock.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara H. Wilkerson, Black, AL; Marianne B. Whitman (Robert),

Ralph AL; Libby Cartwright (Ray), Samson, AL; one son Chris Blalock (Dawn) Pensacola FL. Ten

grandchildren: Karen Sloan (James); Amy Eldridge (Gregg); Sandy Kirkland (Tracy); Matt Cartwright

(Ashley); Ashleigh Cartwright; Rob Whitman; Evan and Drew Blalock; Eli and Emily Murphy, eight

Great-Grandchildren; Justin Sloan (Cassie), Tyler, Ryan and Adam Eldridge; Karlee and Koen

Kirkland; Akyra and Alec Cartwright. One great-great granddaughter, Olivia Sloan.

Special Great niece and nephew Jeana Velez (Tom) and David Blalock (Ashlee).

A special thanks to Jan Dixon and her staff at Greenwood Place, staff of Southern Care Hospice for the

wonderful and loving care of our mother and grandmother.
