DOTHAN…Inez Hinson Brown, a resident of Dothan, died early Thursday morning, March 9, 2017 at her home. She was 80.


            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 11, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Royce Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, AL 36302.


            Mrs. Brown, daughter of the late John Perry Hinson and Nadine Hutto Hinson, was a native of the Grangerburg Community near Cottonwood. She formerly lived in Columbus, Georgia before moving to Dothan in 1989. She attended Faith Tabernacle Community Church in Dothan. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, George Walter Brown, her son, Eddie Retherford and her sister, Nellie Pearl Harrison; a son-in-law, Doug Dismukes.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sylvia Dismukes, Dothan; a brother, Leon Hinson, Dothan; three grandchildren, Kimberly Stanford, Jason Stanford (Abby), and Joey Retherford; four great-grandchildren, Ariel Franklin, D.J. McCray, Bryant Stanford, and Parker Stanford; two great-great-grandchildren, Tucker and Ava Franklin; several nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Frank Williams, Jason Stanford, Joey Retherford, D.J. McCray, Chas Johnson and Jim Faust.
