SHORTERVILLE. . .Jack Norton, a resident of Shorterville, died Sunday morning, December 2, 2018, at his home. He was 82.

            Graveside services were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 3, 2018, in the Adoniram Baptist Church Cemetery with a cousin, Amy Parrish, officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremation was in charge of arrangements.

            Jack Norton was born and reared in the Hardwicksburg Community of Henry County and lived in Shorterville most of his adult lifetime. He was employed as a truck driver in the logging business for many years. Jack was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, F. O. (Bud) Norton, his mother, Edna Godfrey Norton, his step-father, Clarence Blanchard and his step-mother, Fannie Blanchard.

            Surviving relatives include his cousins, Russell Hardwick, Amy Parrish and Virginia Bostick, Olivia Fleming and Tommy Hardwick and several other cousins.
