Jack Sherrer, age 70, of Enterprise, AL passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, October 1, 2017.


Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Greg George and Rev. Tommy Batson officiating. Honoring Jack’s request, his family will have a private burial service in Meadowlawn Cemetery following his service. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:30 on Wednesday.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 4015 AL Hwy. 27, Enterprise, AL 36330, American Cancer Society, PO Box 310900, Enterprise, AL 36331 or Kindred Hospice, PO Box 1708, Enterprise, AL 36331.


Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Gladys Sherrer and a son, Dr. Steve Sherrer. Jack was born and raised in Coffee County, Alabama to a farming family and continued that legacy throughout his life.


He is survived by Nancy Gammill Sherrer; Stephanie Sherrer Amlong (Bryan) Chancellor, AL; Scott Sherrer (Mindy) Enterprise, AL; Allison Sherrer Washington (Jeff and son Austin), Dothan, AL; grandchildren,  Trey Sherrer; Hannah Sherrer; Wyatt Amlong; Ivey Grace Amlong; Julia Mae Sherrer; Cotton Sherrer;  a brother, James W. Sherrer (Shirley) Raleigh, NC; his aunt, Louise Godwin, Enterprise, AL; cousins, Doug Maund; Jackie Diener; Joan Harris; Terri King; Edna and Robbie Thompson as well as several nieces and nephews.
