James Edward “Eddie” Killebrew, a resident of Spring, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017. He was 50.


A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Frith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-6:30 pm.


Eddie was born on November 10, 1966 in Edison, Georgia and moved to Dothan at an early age. He was a 1985 graduate of Northview High School. Eddie was a heavy construction equipment operator and was employed with Development and Engineering Associates. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and outdoor grilling. Eddie was an avid motor cross racer at Ft. Rucker, where he won several trophies. He attended Evergreen Presbyterian Church.


Survivors include his son, James (Megan) Killebrew, III; his daughter, Rhea Brookins; his grandson, James Edward Killebrew, IV; his mother, Monte Ruth Killebrew; his father, James E. Killebrew, Sr.; his brother, Steven “Todd” Killebrew; his niece, Sara Beth Killebrew; and his nephew, Thomson Killebrew.
