James “Jim, Jimmy” Allen Katauskas, of Kinston, was welcomed to his everlasting home on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones.  He was 77.

 

Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church in Kinston.  The family will receive friends at Kinston Town Hall immediately following the service, at approximately 3:00 p.m. for a time of fellowship, food, and a celebration of Jim’s life.  There will be no graveside services.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Assembly of God Church.

 

Jim was born July 12, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois.  He owned and operated Jimmy’s Truck & Auto Repair in Opp from 2003 until approximately 2015.  He served as a member of Kinston City Council from 2009 until his passing.

 

He was preceded in death by two sons: Michael Katauskas and Dean Glaum; mother, Casimira Katauskas; and father, John Katauskas.

 

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Paula Katauskas; children: Jimmy (Gliselle) Seiffert of Napa, CA, Dennis Kordelewski of Hastings, MI, Denise (Jr.) Bryson of Sun Valley, NV, Yvette (Bob) Powers of Kinston, AL, Chris Katauskas of Andalusia, AL, Christiana Largent-Katauskas (Vance Butts) of Opp, AL, Michael Pittman of Andalusia, AL, and Derick and Kelly Regan of Kinston, AL; daughters-in-law: Pam Ballenger of Benecia, CA, and Tary Glaum of Joliet, IL; brothers: John (Linda) Katauskas of Lamont, IL, and Jerry Katauskas of Grayslake, IL; beloved cousin, Donna Ford.  He is also survived by 38 grandchildren, as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and an abundance of special friends and loved ones.
